11 days of French cinema in New York
Held from March 3 to 13 at the Lincoln Center in New York, Rendez-Vous with French Cinema will celebrate the latest films by Claire Denis, Mathieu Amalric, Jacques Audiard, among many others, with a large number of actors and directors present at the event.
The program for this 27th edition of the festival once again highlights the diversity and vitality of current French cinema, featuring works by established filmmakers who are much-loved across the Atlantic, such as Arnaud Desplechin, Mathieu Amalric, Jacques Audiard, and Emmanuel Carrère, and films by emerging talents, including Émilie Carpentier, Vincent Maël Cardona, Rachel Lang, and Leyla Bouzid.
The opening ceremony will be devoted to Claire Denis, who will present her new film Both Sides of the Blade (Fire), which was screened in a world premiere at the recent Berlin International Film Festival.
Encounters and Talks
- Claire Denis and Jim Jarmusch, who is the official guest of honor at this year's Rendez-Vous event, will join together for a conversation around their illustrious careers.
- Juliette Binoche and Déborah Lukumuena will talk about their professional trajectories and creative influences.
- A panel discussion titled "Working the Image: A French-American Look at Cinematography," organized in partnership with French In Motion and the Gotham Film & Media Institute, will bring together French and American directors and cinematographers to talk about their various inspirations, creative philosophies, and artistic practices.
