Agnès Varda in Chicago in October

For an Entire Week, Discover the Work of the Tireless Agnès Varda, as She Travels to Cine Varda Expo.

From September 11 until November 8, the Chicago University’s Logan Center for the Arts presents an exhibition of Agnès Varda’s work as a photographer and videographer.

As part of the exhibit, Agnès Varda will participate in a Q&A on Friday, October 9th. On October 11, she will host a public conversation with the New York artist, Jessica Stockholder. On this occasion, in collaboration with two theaters, the Logan Center will screen many of Agnès Varda’s movies.

Among them, you can see seven feature films: Happiness, One Sings, the Other Doesn’t, Vagabond, Cleo from Five to Seven, The Beaches of Agnès, her self-portrait, Jane B. by Agnès V. a Jane Birkin’s fictional portrait, and the documentary, The Gleaners and I.

The program also includes the showing of a five-part documentary, Agnès Varda: from Here to There, which revolves around a meeting with artists and artisans from all over the world. Several short films will also be featured, including 7 rms, kit, bath… [grab it], which happens to be the film in which Varda discovered Yolande Moreau before casting her in Vagabond, the feature debut of the Belgian actress.
