The French play 'Cyrano de Bergerac' is coming to U.S. theaters
Pathé Live is partnering with Fathom Events to present the French play Cyrano de Bergerac by the Comédie-Française to American audiences. It will be screened in French with English Subtitles in more than 300 movie theaters nationwide for a one night only event on January 23rd, 2019 at 7pm.
Cyrano de Bergerac, a play entirely written in verse by Edmond Rostand in 1897, is loosely based on the real life of Cyrano, a soldier in the French army cursed with a prominent nose but gifted with words. He uses his talent to help handsome Christian win Roxane's heart, whom he also loves... But is Cyrano himself too ugly to be loved?
The play is directed by famed actor-director Denis Podalydès and features in the title roles Michel Vuillermoz and Françoise Gillard. French fashion designer Christian Lacroix designed the costumes.
