New Release: The French Kissers (Les beaux gosses)

After a surprisingly rapturous reception from the notoriously fickle crowd at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009 The French Kissers went on to be a commercial hit in France.

The tale of a pair of hapless teenage boys as they embark on their first tentative romantic adventures rang true with audiences who embraced this awkward pair. It's a film as filthy as it is funny, but with a genuine heart of gold.

The French Kissers (Les beaux gosses)

Hervé is in junior high, he has ordinary looks and middling grades, and lives with his single mother in a 'just ok' housing estate. Going nowhere fast, he and his sidekick Camel can only fantastize about their female classmates (and their mothers). Until one day, when Herve inexplicably catches the eye of the sweet but equally hormone-fuelled Aurore (Alice Tremolieres), and he's pushed to choose between his first girlfriend, his unquenchable libido, and his best friend.

A rollicking tale of the endless embarrassments (and minor triumphs) of these hapless teens' first sexual experiences.

A zits-and-all portrait of the weird, wild and incredibly awkward time of adolescence, Gallic laffer The French Kissers plants plenty of heart-wrenching gags right in the smacker.” – Variety

"Funny because it rings true, in any language." - The Hollywood Reporter

"A pure coming of age comedy, or rather the realist and hyper-raw reverse angle of this typically American genre." - Cahiers Du Cinéma
