Since she burst onto the scene in 1980 with La Boum,Sophie Marceau has captivated audiences around the world. She has come to represent the epitome of French class on the international stage and, in 2012, she was selected as an official model for Marianne, a national emblem of France. Last week marked her 49th birthday and in celebration we present a selection of her finest roles throughout the years. 

The multitalented Sophie Marceau is now an actress, director, screenwriter, and author but it was the 1980 classic La Boum that introduced her to the world.
